ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
The World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are currently seeking to fill an internship position under the WFPHuman Rsources departmentwhcich will be based at our Office in Amman, Jordan. The Internship will be for an initial period of6months.
JOB PURPOSE
To perform a range of HR tasks to support accurate implementation of WFP policies and procedures and facilitate the effective functioning of a client-focused and strategy-oriented HR services.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
- Assist on HR queries and follow up actions with the HR team in Yemen & the support team n Jordan, to ensure consistent and high quality recruitment processes are delivered.
- Liaise with other internal units/offices on recruitment and selection and provide necessary information in order to enable timely completion.
- Work on e-recruitment systems for ensuring compliance with the established deadlines and accuracy of HR data.
- Assist the screening of application and facilitate assuring comprehensive and efficient assessment.
- Support scheduling of interviews and written tests and invite candidates and coordinate with the focal points in Yemen accordingly.
- Provide administrative support in various HR activities in the areas of work allocated by the professional officer including creating and advertising Vacancy Announcements, screening candidates and CVs, administering of written tests & interviews, Prepare NFRs and LAPC in compliance with relevant processes and procedures.
- Maintain the recruitment files in accordance with established systems and processes so that information is up-to-date and readily available for staff.
- Follow up completion of recruitment documents and share to HR team in Yemen.
- Update recruitment statistics and VA status in HR databases on a timely basis.
- Extract and compile HR data on staff recruitment and selection, contractual conditions, entitlements and performance to support analysis and reporting needs.
- Draft various HR documentation required for the specific area of recruitment and selection and ensure accuracy and meeting established deadlines.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled or have recently graduated within the last 12 months from a University degree in Political
- Science, Economics, Statistics, Information Management or Journalism, Business Management, Social
- Sciences or other relevant field,;
- Have completed at least two years of undergraduate study;
- Have attended university courses in the past 12 months;
- Fluent in oral and written English;
- Demonstrated self-starter with drive and initiative;
- Proficiency in data analysis and high attention to detail;
- Ability to learn technology quickly through instructions and self-training;
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills;
- Highly proficient in the MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PPT, Word);
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff members of different nationalities and cultural
- backgrounds.
- Has managed and implemented HR policy and procedures of recruitment and selection in line with WFPs operating standards
- Has conducted specific HR aspects of recruitment and interviews administration
- Has provided ad-hoc guidance to less experienced staff members
- Has provided briefing to new recruits as part of the onboarding process
- Has gained experience working across a range of WFP contexts and with varying strategic priorities
- Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP up to the maximum amount of US$1000 per month depending on the duty station of assignment.
- WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation,necessary visas and related costs.
- Depending on the duty station of assignment, WFP willreimburse travel ticket for candidates who are nationals of developing countries and are pursuing their studies in their home country.
- WFPwill recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education;
- The position is open for the Yemen support office based in Amman, Jordan.
