IMTD’s strategic objectives
The Information Management and Technology Department (IMTD) is a strategic enabler of
UNRWA’s programmes in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, West Bank and Gaza. With over 30,000 staff
members serving over 5 million Palestine refugees, the Agency’s programmes deliver direct
services to the refugees in the areas of education, health, relief and social service, infrastructure
and camp improvement, and microfinance services. IMTD seeks to provide world-class
Information Management and Technology (IMT) services to UNRWA beneficiaries through secure,
innovative, impactful, efficient and cost-effective solutions.
المهام الوظيفة :
The main responsibilities include:
• Establishing and managing online repositories of IT Project Management documents and
setting up project files. Including the use of established project management tools and
procedures to update all Project Management Office (PMO) document repositories;
• Providing support and administrative services to the PMO, including but not limited to:
compiling and distributing project related reports, preparing for meetings, checking
documents for accuracy and compliance, drafting communication material, collating requested
information in coordination with field offices, and responding to general Project Management
queries. This entails the use of technology and electronic systems and tools to initiate work,
sharing information with colleagues, clients, partners and external stakeholders;
• Providing advice, guidance, and training where applicable to support adoption of Project
Management methods, software, procedures, processes and tools and adherence to policies
and standards as set out by the Head, Project Management Office; drafting guidance material
for Project Management tools and processes;
Information Management and Technology
• Analyzing data and information to facilitate monitoring and evaluation of project activities to
institutionalize and disseminate knowledge;
• Supporting the review and improvement of Project Management documents as per the
frameworks and guidance established by the Project Management Office (PMO);
• Managing, configuring and administrating the Enterprise Project Management (EPM) software
solution (creating project sites, assigning licenses, and monitoring the progress); providing
necessary support on the governance of the EPM and training to project teams on the use of
the system.
To qualify for this position, you will need:
Education A university degree from an accredited educational institution in computer
science or business administration with emphasis on computer-related studies
and/or information technology;
Formal training in project management techniques.
Work
experience
Four years of relevant experience in designing, planning, and managing
projects;
Three years of experience in Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
project environment/context;
Good level of knowledge in project management principles and methodologies,
in addition to project scheduling and monitoring tools.
Language(s) Very good command of written and spoken English and Arabic.
Desirable qualifications
• Project Management certification–PRINCE2 Foundation Certification or equivalent.
• Certification in IT industry standards and/or best practices (i.e. ITIL etc.).
Equivalency
When the minimum requirements are not fully met, the Director of Human Resources may
exceptionally substitute part of the unmet requirements with a combination of relevant academic
qualifications, additional professional training and progressive relevant work experience.
NB: Work experience alone or formal qualifications with no relevant work experience are not
considered an acceptable combination.

Conditions of service
919الراتب الاساسي
Monthly basic salary JD 919.80 plus special occupation allowance of 17.83% of the basic
salary. Other benefits include monthly Provident Fund contribution (15.2% of basic salary paid
by the Agency), compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave, and dependency
allowance (if applicable).
